I Love Grass!!
There, I said it. The sun killed my grass, the grubs ate it, the weeds destroyed it and I had patches all over my front yard. So I mowed, verticut, mowed again, killed grubs, seeded, fertilized and watered regularly and I have grass. I conquered and I make my wife admire my grass with me every other day. It's small and thin but it's grass and I grew it. Well God grew it, but I helped. I won't let my kids out on my front lawn so what fun is grass if you can't play on it? Well here's my philosophy the front lawn is for show (until I get bored with growing grass) the back lawn is for play. Which is exactly what we did last night, all 6 of us played freeze tag forever. I am really out of shape, well sort of.
by next summer the grass will have been played on and weeds and bugs are going to destroy more patches, and I will still be battling to keep my grass.
Stuff keeps coming at me spiritually as well. I can't keep the bugs weeds and traffic off of my heart. I'm going to keep having worn out patches that have to be cared for. I will be killing off grubs in my thinking for the rest of my life. But one thing is for sure I can't quit growing spiritually or the weeds and grubs and traffic with kill the life off inside of me.
